Our Philosophy
We feel that science education is critical to a child’s overall development. Our programs get kids hooked on science in an exciting and stimulating environment that is also carefully controlled – we want children excited while remaining seated. While we present basic science concepts, we believe that actual science education is best done in the class room, and our role is to help enlighten young minds to the scientific marvels all around us, thereby fostering their desire to learn more through their daily science curriculum. Many of our demonstrations utilize common household products, and we encourage kids during the program to go to our website for complete instructions on trying some of our demonstrations at home (with adult supervision!).
What does Rockin’ Science cost?
Our fees are very reasonable, especially when considering the quality and magnitude of this program. We can add a second show at the same location for a nominal fee provided the second show starts within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the first show. We serve most of Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin and parts of Iowa and Michigan - essentially we travel within a 200 mile radius from office in Lombard, Illinois (just west of Chicago). We are pleased to offer a discount if programs for multiple schools can be arranged at the time of booking. Please contact our Quality Education Group office for exact pricing or other details.
What does Rockin’ Science Lite cost?
Our Lite program is a great choice for smaller schools or groups or those with limited program time and/or money. Because this program is easily customized to your requirements, the fee can vary somewhat, but is usually about 25% less than the full Rockin’ Science experience. We are pleased to offer a discount if programs for multiple schools can be arranged at the time of booking. Please contact our Quality Education Group office for exact pricing or other details.
Tell me more about the Program Director and Presenter:
Nationally known educator, writer and professional presenter Steve Preins creates and performs every
Rockin’ Science and Rockin’ Science Lite program. Steve is the Director of Education and Training for our parent company, Quality Education Group, Inc. and when he is not out getting kids hooked on science he spends his time helping adults to achieve their potential at seminars throughout the Midwest. Steve has always had a passion for science and technology and he loves to see kid’s faces “light up” during a program. Steve did not start out as a teacher, but when invited to “give it a try” years ago, it quickly became apparent from the overwhelming comments and reactions of his students that he is a “natural” with a gift for explaining concepts in ways that are easy to follow and are memorable. Steve very commonly has children approach him at a school still excited about the assembly he performed there 2 or 3 years earlier. You can see Steve’s complete bio here.
What are the facility requirements?
For the full Rockin' Science experience: We ask your organization to provide 2 gallons of cold tap water, two 6 or 8 foot tables, and an electrical outlet within 20 feet, preferably a 20 amp circuit. We cannot perform this program on a stage - we need to be on the same floor as the audience. We provide our own sound system. This program requires a lot of equipment, so we need one hour to set up before the scheduled time of the program and 45 minutes to break down after the program. The room where the program is to be held must be free of student activity during set up and break down, especially in a gym or multi-purpose room.
